Making

I'm making 3 quilts - pictures to follow. Two for my grandson, one was hung up for a while while I gained skill in machine quilting, the other is newer, turned out way too small and i have to add several borders because i can make the center a medallion.

The third is for my great nephew, because I love my nephew Eric a lot.

Promise, pictures to follow, if you don't mind my very messy studio as a backdrop.

Loughs and laughs and shrines

I just looked up lough at dictionary.com. It's pronounced, lok. who knew, and I've been to Ireland. What's in a name?

I was pronouncing in, luf, which is gentler sounding, sort of like love. The properties of water, necessary for survival for life, soothing as a soak, full of life, comes in varieties of sizes and colors and temperatures - and shapes too, when you consider ice, or water in containers.

Anyway, in polite company I'll say lok, if the opportunity comes up in conversation. Less likely in the U.S. where I live than if I lived in the islands direct to the west of Europe.

I have a photograph of my shrine. I need something live for it. I'm going to have to move it too, It's not in a shriney place, next to the box of dry Tide detergent. But, it's central and I see it all the time. I should upload a photo.

stitchkid Sept. 25

Today is my birthday and I have created my blog. I am a sewer. I'm a reader and writer and watermedia artist too, but mostly I like to crush cloth into various shapes, attach stuff to it and fit it to a shape. I make garments and I just picked up teaching.

Any other teachers out there.

I don't know much about blogging so I guess that's what I'm here to learn. I want to keep myself accountable.
